Senior Software Engineer (PySpark)

Location: Hybrid work in Scottsdale; positions in San Francisco, Chicago, or New York also follow a hybrid model. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer.

Salary: $118,000–$152,000 USD per year in Phoenix, AZ, Chicago, IL, or Washington, DC, plus discretionary incentive eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, document, test, debug, and maintain software product applications.
• Implement complex capabilities that enhance core payment and financial-services offerings.
• Build and support Java web services using Spring Boot and design RESTful services.
• Query platform data using SQL-based databases and work with Python, Spark, and PySpark.
• Review and approve pull requests, manage Git source code, and document technical decisions in Confluence.
• Build automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot complex defects while supporting secure handling of systems and data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of direct software engineering or related experience.
• Required experience with Spring or Spring Boot, AWS Cloud, Python, Spark or PySpark, and SQL.
• Experience with Git and Git Flow, automated testing, modern DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and RESTful service design.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Background and drug screening are required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Big Data platforms such as Hadoop or Hive.
• Experience with REST or SOAP services and data formats including XML, JSON, and YAML.
• NoSQL experience with Redis, HBASE, AeroSpike, or similar technologies.
• FinTech experience.
