Electrical Engineering Co-Op, Spring 2027 (MedTech)

What you will do

• Contribute to teams developing electrical and electromechanical surgical instruments, surgical robotics, electronic operating room equipment, and automated data acquisition systems.
• Perform testing, experimentation, and validation supporting product design.
• Support circuit and system design, experiments, data acquisition and analysis, troubleshooting, prototype assembly, and fabrication.
• Develop experience with concept generation, firmware and software, printed circuit board design, system prototyping, hardware and software debugging, and documentation.
• Develop laboratory tests, interpret results, and recommend next steps.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Have completed at least two semesters and remain a student throughout the co-op term, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Be legally and permanently authorized to work in the United States for the full co-op term without requiring employment visa sponsorship.
• Demonstrate leadership or participation in campus programs or community service.
• Have basic knowledge of analog hardware design, embedded systems, circuit or system troubleshooting, and electrical laboratory measurements.
• Have experience with MATLAB, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.

Nice to have

• Statistical analysis, Design of Experiments, risk management, or medical device industry experience.
• Product component and subsystem design, manufacturing processes, and design requirements.
• Schematic capture, PCB design and fabrication, circuit simulation, or SPICE software.
• Embedded C/C++, VHDL, Verilog, Ethernet, USB, I2C, or SPI.
• LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python for test automation and data post-processing.
