New York Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern - 2027 (Financial Advisory)

Location: New York City, United States. Hybrid work combines in-person work in the local office and on client sites with remote work; interns must be available to work in the designated location during business hours for the full internship and may travel locally or out of state.

What you will do

• Support client engagements in Business Process Audit and Advisory or Technology Audit and Advisory.
• Explore business processes, identify and mitigate emerging risks, and help improve efficiency, effectiveness, governance, security, and compliance.
• Assess technology risks and controls across cybersecurity, AI risk, data governance, cloud, privacy, software development, resilience, and technology governance.
• Analyze data and information in different formats to identify insights and develop actionable conclusions.
• Collaborate with teams and clients while contributing to internal initiatives across industries.
• Participate in structured onboarding, training, coaching, and experiential learning programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for hirify.global without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of the internship and at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in applying AI tools to analytical and research tasks, including Microsoft Copilot or generative AI.
• Advanced verbal and written communication, critical thinking, analytical thinking, teamwork, and data interpretation skills.
• Technical proficiency relevant to the assigned capability area, including internal audit processes, Microsoft Office, data visualization, and relevant software development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform, or Python.
• Interest in advanced analytics and automation technologies.
• Progress toward professional certifications and a strong academic background.
