ASIC Chip Lead

Salary: $145,000–$205,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead ASIC architecture based on high-level requirements and block diagrams.
• Define chip functionality, interfaces, performance targets, and detailed component specifications with system architects.
• Create and optimize RTL designs using Synopsys Design Compiler for area, power, and performance.
• Develop chip-wide timing constraints and collaborate on floorplanning, placement, routing, and design closure.
• Constrain and verify RISC processors, optimizing processor performance and power efficiency.
• Support verification activities, testbench development, customer requirement evaluation, effort estimation, and design-methodology improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of direct ASIC and/or SoC design experience.
• Strong digital IC design background using Verilog and SystemVerilog, with a thorough understanding of RTL-based design.
• Proficiency with Synopsys Design Compiler and other EDA tools, plus familiarity with RISC architectures such as ARM or MIPS.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, C/C++, Perl, Python, or TCL scripting, and industry-standard development tools.
• Demonstrated first-pass success, problem-solving ability, leadership capability, mentoring skills, and effective collaboration in diverse teams.
