Software Engineer, AI Infrastructure - USDS

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $129,960–$246,240 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Assist with deployment, operation, and optimization of Recommendation and Search systems across their full lifecycle.
• Develop internal software and automation scripts that reduce manual work and improve R&D velocity.
• Support service availability across global data centers through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
• Track and report cloud resource utilization to support efficiency goals and cluster SLAs.
• Configure and manage monitoring stacks for service latency, health metrics, and system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 1+ year of professional experience in software development or infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for clean, efficient automation tools.
• Experience with Docker and basic CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Foundational knowledge of distributed systems, troubleshooting, and agentic frameworks or tools development.

Nice to have

• Experience or internships in SRE, DevOps, or internal platform engineering.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Basic understanding of machine learning lifecycles or model inference workflows.
