Site Reliability Engineer, Edge Services - USDS

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $136,800–$359,720 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Architect and implement solutions for internal and external customers using hirify.global’s content delivery network.
• Build and operate reliable, fault-tolerant, scalable, and cost-effective edge services.
• Develop data pipelines, operational tools, automations, visualizations, monitors, and alerting systems.
• Perform data quality assurance, anomaly detection, and analysis of edge service performance.
• Design system-level solutions to remove bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Participate in technical operations and rotations for performance and reliability incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 2+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in CDN performance and traffic engineering, network solution architecture, or network-focused site reliability engineering.
• Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, carrier-grade networking environments, and CDN technologies.
• 2+ years of programming experience with Java, C++, Go, Shell, or Python.
• Strong analytical and real-world problem-solving skills in a fast-moving environment.
• Ability to work on-site in San Jose under a fully in-person schedule of up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience operating in a multi-CDN environment.
• Understanding of IPv6 and IPv4–IPv6 coexistence technologies.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and building automation and tools for large-scale systems.
• Ability to work independently with ambiguity and move projects from concept to delivery.
