Manager, Practice Accounting (Reporting)

What you will do

• Lead accrual-based accounting for a region covering 2–3 partnered physician practices.
• Oversee a team of 4–8 staff and senior accountants, including hiring, training, development, and performance support.
• Coordinate monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, consolidation activities, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting and compliance with US GAAP.
• Research and document technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and liability recognition.
• Present financial results and accounting matters to practice leaders, finance executives, physicians, and CEOs; travel to clinics or business offices occasionally when required.

Requirements

• Accounting degree; a graduate degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Prior supervisory experience managing accounting personnel and building high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, financial reporting, US GAAP, and technical accounting research.
• Strong Excel skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and financial and business acumen.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, geographically distributed cross-functional environment and travel when required.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Workday or another ERP platform.
• Active CPA license or progress toward a CPA license.
