Senior Director, Immunology (Biotechnology)

Location: Boston, MA; onsite five days per week

Salary: $237,900–$356,900 annual base salary, plus potential annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead research program teams across two or more immunology programs, coordinating cross-functional execution and alignment.
• Define immunology research strategies and build capabilities for next-generation drug discovery in type 1 diabetes.
• Develop immunomodulatory and translational immunology approaches for allogeneic transplantation and other immune-mediated therapies.
• Lead the identification, validation, and advancement of therapeutic targets and candidates across cell therapies, genetic therapies, biologics, small molecules, and nucleic acid medicines.
• Shape portfolio strategy and investment decisions using scientific expertise, experimental data, and emerging advances.
• Manage resources, budgets, hiring, team goals, collaborations, and the development of high-performing scientists.

Requirements

• PhD, MD, or equivalent degree in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular pathology, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of industry or equivalent experience in immunology.
• Experience supervising employees, leading cross-functional teams, and contributing to discovery and development programs through IND, FIM, and proof-of-concept stages.
• Deep expertise in immunology-driven drug discovery, translational science, biomarker development, autoimmunity, allogeneic transplantation, and type 1 diabetes.
• Experience with immunological models and immune-response analysis in murine, non-human primate, and human systems.
• Advanced knowledge of cellular and molecular immunology methods, including multicolor flow cytometry, ex vivo immune-cell assays, immunohistochemistry, immunophenotyping, ELISA, cell sorting, RNA-seq, epigenetics, and complex dataset analysis.
