Product Manager, Claude Science (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office presence.

Annual salary: $305,000–$385,000 USD.

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for a major area of Claude Science.
• Work with academic, biotech, pharma, and research institute scientists to turn real workflows into product priorities and success metrics.
• Partner with research teams to define model behaviors, build scientific evaluations, identify failure modes, and improve Claude's performance.
• Lead model and feature launches across research, engineering, design, and go-to-market, including early-access programs.
• Prioritize scientific domains, data sources, tools, integrations, and customer segments using user evidence, usage data, and evaluation results.
• Drive enterprise readiness through security, compliance, deployment controls, safeguards, and responsible access for regulated research organizations.

Requirements

• Product management experience shipping technical products with engineering and design, or equivalent founder, engineering, or scientific experience.
• Scientific or deeply technical background with the ability to reason about expert workflows and diagnose model shortcomings.
• Strong understanding of AI and LLM concepts, including prompting, model behavior, and evaluation methodology.
• Data-driven prioritization, strong user empathy, clear written communication, and the ability to align stakeholders through influence.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a field relevant to the role.
• Visa sponsorship is available, subject to role and candidate eligibility.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of product management or equivalent product leadership experience, including 0-to-1 product development and scaling.
• Advanced degree or research experience in biology, chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related field.
• Experience building model evaluations or benchmarks, especially for agentic or scientific capabilities.
• Experience shipping products for life sciences, pharma, or regulated research environments.
• Experience with trusted-access or staged-rollout programs for sensitive capabilities.
