Sr. Practice Accountant (Pharma)

What you will do

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations across revenue, assets, operating expenses, and liabilities.
• Prepare financial reporting, analyze results, and support variance explanations with Practice Accounting Operations.
• Review staff accountants’ work for accuracy, timeliness, accounting standards compliance, and adequate supporting documentation.
• Support the integration of new physicians, acquired practices, and service lines by establishing opening balance sheets and converting practices from cash to accrual accounting.
• Mentor staff accountants through training, feedback, and technical guidance.
• Contribute to process improvement and accounting automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, accounting best practices, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and liability recognition.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems; Workday experience is preferred.
• Ability to perform technical accounting research, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Attendance is an essential job function; the role requires working in a hybrid setup in Nashville.

Nice to have

• Active CPA license.
• Prior experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior staff.
• Healthcare accounting experience.
