San Francisco Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern - 2027

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. Hybrid work combines in-person and remote work; interns must be available to work in the designated location during business hours for the full internship and may travel to client sites, including out of state.

Salary: $28–$38 per hour.

What you will do

• Collaborate with client-service teams to deliver internal audit and financial advisory solutions.
• Support business process audit projects by evaluating processes, identifying risks, testing controls, and improving governance and compliance.
• Support technology audit projects involving cybersecurity, AI risk, data governance, cloud, privacy, software development, resilience, and technology governance.
• Analyze data and information in multiple formats to identify insights and develop actionable conclusions.
• Apply AI tools, automation, data visualization, and analytical technologies to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
• Participate in onboarding, training, professional development, and cross-industry project experiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, computer science, data science, engineering, finance, information systems, information technology, management information systems, or a related discipline.
• Authorization to work in the United States for hirify.global without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be within one year of final graduation at the time of the internship and at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in applying AI tools to analytical and research tasks, such as Microsoft Copilot or generative AI.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, teamwork, and data interpretation abilities.
• Technical proficiency relevant to the assigned capability area, including Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools such as Power BI.

Nice to have

• Understanding of internal audit processes, frameworks, emerging technologies, and audit objectives.
• Entry-level knowledge of software development practices and methodologies.
• Interest in advanced analytics and automation tools such as Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform, and Python.
• Progress toward relevant professional certifications.
