Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical)

Location: Onsite at the Ashton manufacturing site; average 40 hours per week on a three-week rotating shift pattern, including 6 am–6 pm and 6 pm–6 am shifts.

What you will do

• Maintain, support, and improve production equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults while reducing downtime and preventing recurrence.
• Complete and develop preventative maintenance tasks through the PPM programme.
• Support the introduction and commissioning of new equipment, machinery, and working methods.
• Deliver planned minor projects to specification and improve machine reliability, flexibility, and OEE.
• Monitor equipment and facility performance while maintaining health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Completed formal apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline with practical industrial experience.
• Experience working in a production or factory environment.
• PLC diagnostics and basic programming skills, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Omron systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, HMI, and AC/DC drives.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, risk assessment, method statements, and technical diagrams.
• Methodical, organised, flexible, and able to take ownership of problems and work effectively under pressure.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of rubber mixing, stenter coating, and conversion machinery.
• Experience with SAP PM software.
