Marketing & Field Application Scientist (Life Sciences)

Location: Tokyo Headquarters, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The role includes travel to customer sites for up to approximately 50% of each month, including overnight stays and direct travel.

Salary: Determined based on experience, age, and qualifications; annual incentive and bonus system.

What you will do

• Plan and execute marketing strategies and related activities for life sciences products.
• Create and translate catalogs, manuals, product documentation, and promotional materials using digital marketing initiatives.
• Support customers alongside the sales team at pharmaceutical, academic, and life sciences research sites.
• Explain analytical instruments, applications, and related software, and conduct laboratory demonstrations.
• Provide operational training during product delivery and installation and respond to technical inquiries.
• Deliver internal training and collaborate with the U.S. headquarters on technical development and application activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, agriculture, science, pharmacy, or another relevant scientific discipline.
• At least three years of practical experience in cell biology bench techniques, especially mammalian cell culture and protein analysis.
• Experience with cell sorting, flow cytometry, electrophoresis, Western blotting, ELISA, multiplex assays, and antibody-based assays.
• Experience as a Field Application Scientist or in customer-facing technical support within the life sciences industry; marketing experience is preferred.
• Native-level Japanese and fluent business English are required; TOEIC score of 750 or higher.
• A valid ordinary driver’s license is required, along with availability for travel of up to approximately 50% per month.

• Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific discipline.
