Business Risk Officer (Banking Risk)

What you will do

• Translate enterprise governance, regulatory guidance, and policy requirements into practical business processes and controls.
• Lead first-line risk and compliance governance, including risk assessments, RCSAs, key risk indicator monitoring, control testing, exception reviews, and issue remediation.
• Identify, evaluate, document, escalate, and track control gaps, operational incidents, exceptions, and emerging risks.
• Maintain process documentation and the risk and controls library while leading operational improvement, business continuity, and vendor review activities.
• Coordinate with second-line risk and compliance, legal, auditors, and examiners during compliance questions, examinations, and audits.
• Assess risk and control impacts of business initiatives and advise leadership on personnel-related risks, training, role clarity, and segregation of duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or related financial services roles.
• Strong understanding of bank products, operations, and the regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and collaborate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
