Embedded Linux C/C++ Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Chatillon, France

Salary: €43,000–€48,000 per year

Develops hardware and software solutions for IPTV, digital signage, video encoding, decoding, transcoding, archiving, and streaming over IP.

What you will do

• Contribute to the detailed design of features for encoding and decoding platforms running on embedded Linux.
• Develop software components implementing modern video codecs for medical, military, and industrial applications.
• Build product features using continuous integration practices.
• Develop and automate associated tests.
• Analyze and fix issues identified during testing and validation.
• Present completed work to the Scrum development team.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent five-year higher education qualification.
• At least five years of software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with embedded Linux development, including interrupts, registers, and cross-compilation.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as IP and UDP, and good command of Yocto.
• Technical English reading, speaking, and writing skills are essential.

Nice to have

• Basic understanding of Rust and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of video encoding, decoding, and streaming technologies such as GStreamer, H.264, H.265, TS, and HLS.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
