What you will do

• Manage national purchasing operations and oversee daily activities.
• Analyze vendor consolidation opportunities and purchasing effectiveness.
• Develop, enforce, and maintain purchasing policies and procedures.
• Resolve purchasing issues and maintain systems, information, and pricing accuracy.
• Manage inventory control and provide ongoing training and consultation.
• Hire, develop, and evaluate purchasing associates.

Requirements

• Typically, a BS or BA in a related discipline.
• Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field.
• At least 18 years of age and able to pass applicable pre-employment assessments.
• Ability to analyze and investigate purchasing problems and make decisions using professional methods and business principles.
• Availability for overnight travel approximately 5%–20% of the time.

Nice to have

• Purchasing manager experience.
• Membership in trade organizations.
• Relevant certification or advanced degree.
