Manager, Data Science (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop and manage an integrated portfolio of risk, direct mail response, line management, collection, and other credit models.
• Research new modeling techniques and use non-traditional data sources to improve model performance.
• Lead solutions that extract additional value from credit bureau tradeline data.
• Lead statistical analysis and develop profit-driven decision frameworks and risk strategies across the full credit cycle.
• Partner with business leaders to define priorities, align talent and resources, and communicate progress to executive management.
• Prioritize initiatives across direct reports and translate strategic goals into team deliverables.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, statistics, economics, business management, or computer science.
• 4+ years of model development experience in a large institution preferred; a PhD may offset experience.
• Knowledge of decision trees, neural networks, XGBoost, and complex regression methods preferred.
• Advanced use of R, SAS, and Python, including TensorFlow and PySpark.
• Superior communication skills and comfort working with all levels of management.
• Experience leading diverse teams across multiple projects and solving complex data-driven problems.
