Lead Collections Specialist (Consumer Lending)

Location: Onsite in Wake Forest, North Carolina, United States; travel to branches within and outside the assigned district is required.

What you will do

• Manage high-volume collection activity across an assigned district and work toward delinquency performance goals.
• Contact customers to understand their circumstances and arrange appropriate repayment or settlement solutions.
• Partner with Branch Managers and branch teams to identify performance trends and provide targeted collections support.
• Train and coach branch employees on delinquency management, account resolution, and collection best practices.
• Work with the District Manager to prioritize support based on branch and business needs.
• Maintain accurate account documentation, follow company policies and regulatory requirements, and travel to branches as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of related experience in collections, consumer lending, financial services, or account resolution.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, negotiation, judgment, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage a high-volume workload, prioritize effectively, and work toward performance goals.
• Ability to influence, coach, and build trust with customers and colleagues.
• Willingness and ability to travel to branches within and outside the assigned district.

Nice to have

• Experience coaching, mentoring, or training others.
• Experience supporting multiple branches, locations, or teams.
