Assurance Manager (Private Client Services)

Location: Toronto, Canada; consistent onsite presence during core business hours, regular firm-office attendance, and travel to client sites are required.

Compensation range: CAD 79,500–135,000 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate audit, review, and compilation engagements, including financial statements, disclosures, and corporate, personal, and trust income tax compliance deliverables.
• Assess engagement risks, design procedures, and apply the firm’s audit, review, and compilation methodologies.
• Lead multiple engagement teams, supervise fieldwork, monitor productivity and schedules, and review staff work.
• Manage client relationships, understand business developments, address concerns, and escalate accounting or engagement matters.
• Manage project profitability and identify performance improvement and business development opportunities.
• Coach and develop staff through feedback, training, career guidance, and ongoing professional education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another discipline from an accredited university.
• Active CPA designation or equivalent certification required.
• 5+ years of recent assurance experience in public accounting, including external audit engagements.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, audit procedures, auditing standards, GAAP, CASs, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading and managing audit engagements and teams while planning, executing, and completing audits.
• Ability to maintain consistent onsite presence, report regularly to a firm office, travel to client sites, and work extended or non-standard hours during peak periods.
