Underwriting Assistant

Location: Hybrid in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

What you will do

• Prepare account summaries to help underwriters evaluate new and existing transportation insurance business.
• Support underwriting decisions regarding account acceptability, quality, and profitability based on company guidelines.
• Assist with insurance proposals, endorsements, binds, cancellations, and non-renewals.
• Request and follow up on loss control visits and obtain required underwriting approvals.
• Analyze and aggregate loss runs, MVRs, FMCSA data, external websites, and other relevant information.
• Prepare reports and presentations while collaborating with underwriting and technical teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 2+ years of related transportation underwriting experience and/or training preferred.
• Strong math and computer skills.
• Excellent organization, time management, communication, marketing, and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Current U.S. work authorization for any employer is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
