What you will do

• Review life insurance reinstatement and reissue applications and supporting documentation.
• Determine applicant risk classifications and required medical, non-medical, regulatory, and compliance reviews.
• Research and analyze applicant data using underwriting criteria and sound judgment.
• Explain underwriting decisions, including adverse decisions, to financial professionals and customers.
• Support customers, financial professionals, and internal associates with complex underwriting service issues.
• Maintain underwriting guidance, interpret normal ECG/EKG results, and participate in assigned projects and committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of life underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of risk assessment principles, research techniques, medical terminology, and treatments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, prioritization, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant departmental software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.

Nice to have

• Active pursuit or completion of a LOMA designation.
