Cloud Engineer (Azure)

Location: Hybrid work schedule near the Charlotte, NC office; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Base salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, plus variable incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Operate and improve core Azure services, including compute, storage, networking integrations, identity, logging, and monitoring.
• Administer Azure Kubernetes Service, including cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, configuration, scaling, and operational readiness.
• Build reusable infrastructure-as-code modules and standardized cloud patterns with Terraform and Bicep.
• Create operational and deployment automation using PowerShell and Python.
• Improve CI/CD reliability across Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, and maintain monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability standards.
• Support secure AI and data platform workloads, cloud cost optimization, access controls, compliance readiness, and production troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience supporting Azure-centric cloud platforms and production operations.
• Hands-on Azure experience across foundational compute, storage, networking, App Service, and managed services.
• Operational experience with AKS/Kubernetes, including upgrades, scaling, and reliability.
• Experience with Terraform and scripting in PowerShell and/or Python; Bicep familiarity is beneficial.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, CI/CD systems, Grafana, and collaboration with Security and Network teams.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience operating AI or agent services on Kubernetes and implementing prompt or agent guardrails.
