Head of Internal Audit (NY)

Location: New York, New York; hybrid schedule with office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Annual base salary: $250,000–$300,000

What you will do

• Lead and enhance hirify.global’s global internal audit strategy, program, and framework.
• Develop and execute a risk-based audit plan aligned with business priorities and regulatory expectations.
• Provide independent assurance over governance, risk management, and internal controls.
• Lead audits across operational, regulatory, and technology areas, including the credit rating process and related infrastructure.
• Report findings, risks, and control issues to senior management, the Board, and Audit Committees.
• Oversee remediation tracking and serve as a key contact for regulators and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or related fields within financial services.
• Experience leading or significantly enhancing an internal audit function.
• Strong background in risk-based audit programs and control frameworks.
• Experience engaging with senior executives, boards, audit committees, and regulators.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Ability to work from the New York office three days per week.

Nice to have

• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research, data insights, and productivity.
