TL;DR
Lead Solution Architect (Insurance): Leading the end-to-end modernization of insurance claims systems and defining business-aligned architecture blueprints, target-state designs, and implementation roadmaps with an accent on claims processing, integration, data architecture, and governance. Focus on designing scalable enterprise solutions, challenging architecture proposals, coordinating business and technology stakeholders, and guiding complex transformation programs through implementation.
Location: Sumida-ku, Japan; primarily office-based

What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end architecture for the Claims Modernization Program.
- Define architecture blueprints, target-state designs, multi-year roadmaps, and practical transition plans.
- Assess current business, application, data, integration, and technology landscapes and identify gaps.
- Guide solution design, technology selection, integration, and implementation across the insurance claims value chain.
- Provide architecture governance and review project proposals through the Japan Architecture Board Committee.
- Coordinate business stakeholders, delivery and support teams, global IT, infrastructure teams, and implementation partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Japanese at N1 level and business-fluent English.
- Extensive experience in solution or enterprise architecture and large-scale transformation programs.
- Strong insurance industry and claims-processing knowledge, including claims operations, adjudication, case management, vendors, and regulatory considerations.
- Experience with application, integration, data, and enterprise technology architecture, including core insurance platforms.
- Knowledge of architecture governance, SDLC, waterfall, Agile, DevOps, and frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL, and COBIT.
Nice to have
- Hands-on software development experience and sufficient technical depth to engage with engineers and challenge design decisions.
- Knowledge of cloud, AI, APIs, digital platforms, data solutions, and emerging enterprise technologies.
