Senior Transportation Engineer

What you will do

• Provide transportation engineering services for transit, highways, state agencies, cities, and counties.
• Lead corridor studies, forecast modeling, traffic analysis, transportation planning, and impact fee development.
• Collect, assimilate, and manage project data through research, interviews, map reviews, land-use surveys, and socioeconomic analysis.
• Prepare constraints mapping and technical documents, including categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact studies.
• Support public information meetings and hearings.
• Manage multiple projects and personnel while supporting clients and business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or a closely related field.
• At least 10 years of transportation planning experience; a minimum of 5 years is also listed in the posting.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
• Understanding of transit planning principles and experience managing projects and personnel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD, and ArcInfo/ArcView.
• Commitment to actively participating in an employee-owned culture.

Nice to have

• Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 15 or more years of design, planning, or traffic analysis experience.
• Experience with urban arterials, rural highways, intersections, freeways, multi-level interchanges, and traffic impact studies.
• Experience with Synchro and Vissim.
