Field Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: On-site at a mining operation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; mining rotation schedule of approximately two weeks on-site followed by one week off.

Develops and deploys production-ready autonomous haulage systems for mines, quarries, and construction sites.

What you will do

• Install hirify.global hardware and software, including sensor systems, drive-by-wire kits, power integration, and vehicle interfaces.
• Install peripheral infrastructure such as network stations, gate systems, and site office equipment.
• Calibrate systems and perform validation tests against operational standards.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and monitor equipment condition, wear, degradation, and environmental impact.
• Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity issues using diagnostic tools and system logs.
• Support customer-site operations, provide basic training, document service activity, and communicate findings to engineering teams.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in field service, automotive electronics, mechatronics, or a similar technical support role.
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing tools.
• Strong understanding of vehicle power systems, CAN bus, sensors, and ECUs.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics and follow technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently in rugged outdoor industrial environments with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on-site at a mining operation in Saudi Arabia and comply with site-specific safety and health requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, machine control, robotics, or complex sensor integrations.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and remote diagnostics.
• OSHA 10, MSHA Part 48, or equivalent safety certification.
