Corporate Development Analyst (M&A)

Core & Main distributes water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection products and related services through a nationwide U.S. network.

What you will do

• Prepare financial analyses and valuation models to support mergers and acquisitions.
• Participate in strategic analysis, valuation, and financial and operational due diligence.
• Support corporate strategic planning and internal strategy discussions.
• Create analytical dashboards, presentations, and market research materials.
• Develop insights and recommendations based on analyses and communicate issues and roadblocks.
• Execute functional projects, process improvements, and cross-departmental business initiatives.

Requirements

• BS or BA in accounting, economics, finance, or a related discipline.
• Generally 2–4 years of related experience, or an MS/MA with generally 0–1 year of related experience.
• Previous experience in M&A, finance, or audit.
• Must be at least 18 years old and pass applicable pre-employment assessments.
• Ability to work with established procedures, analyze data, resolve inconsistencies, and exercise judgment under general supervision.

Nice to have

• Transaction services experience, including financial due diligence or valuation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• CFA, CPA, or another relevant professional certification.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, prioritization, and leadership skills.
