Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States. Four days per week in the office, with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

What you will do

• Lead the design of structural systems for K–12, higher education, justice and civic, cultural and performing arts, and mixed-use buildings.
• Develop structural system layouts, narratives, calculations, engineering reports, and construction documents using Revit.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers while coordinating project activities and maintaining technical quality.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver integrated building designs.
• Review shop drawings and RFIs and participate in architect/owner/contractor meetings.
• Support work plans, schedules, budgets, proposals, RFPs, project interviews, and structural engineering operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of building-related structural engineering experience, including concrete, masonry, steel, wood/timber, gravity, and lateral systems.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Previous experience leading engineering teams and directing junior staff.
• Working knowledge of ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, or Enercalc, plus BIM and Autodesk Revit workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, creativity, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and understanding of commercial building materials and assemblies.

• Master’s degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
