Assurance Manager - Business Services (Audit and Financial Reporting): Leading external audit engagements for marketing, advertising, environmental, facilities, and workforce solutions organizations with an accent on risk assessment, financial reporting, and audit quality. Focus on managing multiple engagement teams, reviewing audit work, developing staff, addressing client issues, and maintaining compliance with GAAP, CASs, IFRS, and professional standards.

Location: Toronto, Canada; consistent onsite presence during core business hours, regular office reporting, client-site work, and approximately 25% travel required

Compensation range: $79,500–$145,800 annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do

  • Coordinate audits of financial statements, disclosures, and other client deliverables.
  • Assess risks, design audit procedures, and apply hirify.global’s audit methodology.
  • Manage multiple engagement teams, supervise audit staff, and review work products.
  • Monitor fieldwork productivity, schedules, engagement profitability, and audit quality.
  • Maintain client relationships, address concerns, identify accounting matters, and communicate issues to Senior Managers and Partners.
  • Develop staff through coaching, training, career guidance, and ongoing professional education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another discipline from an accredited university.
  • Active CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • At least five years of recent assurance experience in public accounting, with substantial external audit exposure.
  • Technical proficiency in financial reporting, audit procedures, GAAP, CASs, IFRS, and other relevant standards.
  • Experience leading audit engagements and teams while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain consistent onsite presence, work at client sites, travel as required, and work extended or non-standard hours during peak periods.
