Actuarial Analyst

Location: Remote Flex in North Carolina; virtual work with a few in-office visits each year. The role may involve work connected to the Durham headquarters.

Salary: $81,068–$129,708 per year

What you will do

• Perform actuarial research, experience studies, statistical analyses, and calculations.
• Calculate premiums and reserves for new and existing insurance plans.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings, actuarial models, monthly reports, UCL calculations, and ALR calculations.
• Build model enhancements, investigate changes in calculated factors, and analyze impacts on product lines and segments.
• Support valuation by executing ALR models, verifying results, and researching assumptions and UCL estimates.
• Coordinate rate filing updates with internal stakeholders and transmit filings to NCDOI and CMS.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree, where required.
• 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience; related experience may be considered.
• Completion of at least three exams toward the ASA designation, with alternative consideration for additional relevant experience or ASA progress.
• Ability to analyze data, validate results, investigate trends and anomalies, and provide technical actuarial support.
• Participation in the Actuarial Development Program in good standing.
• Must be able to work under the Remote Flex arrangement for North Carolina, including occasional in-office visits.
