Requirements Engineer III (Commercial Insurance)

What you will do

• Analyze, clarify, and document business requirements as functional and technical specifications, including process maps, business architecture, wireframes, and data models.
• Define complete user stories with business context, data requirements, and supporting analysis.
• Design test scenarios and support the Product Owner with acceptance criteria and backlog prioritization.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, technology, architecture, data, underwriting, pricing, and finance stakeholders.
• Improve costing and pricing tools through process optimization, automation, and user experience enhancements.
• Provide functional application support and maintain project documentation and business knowledge artifacts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional product teams.
• Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile management platforms.
• Proficiency with Visio or comparable process mapping tools and good knowledge of BPMN.
• Ability to understand business processes, data flows, and system interactions.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial insurance products and processes.
• Knowledge of costing, pricing, profitability, or portfolio management.
• Understanding of insurance industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with data modeling, reporting, and database concepts.
• Familiarity with API design, system integrations, software development, or technical implementation.
