Mechanical Designer

What you will do

• Create designs and comprehensive manufacturing documentation for new and existing products, including layouts, 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and related documents.
• Develop detailed product layouts, components, and assemblies using advanced 3D CAD systems.
• Manage small projects and portions of larger projects with minimal supervision.
• Guide fabrication for prototype and pilot builds and participate in Lean improvement activities.
• Perform tolerance stack analysis and calculations to verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications before release.
• Prepare Engineering Change Orders, research product specifications, and provide technical direction to Designer Associates.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in drafting or building preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting or build work preferred.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, manufacturing processes, Product Data Management, ECOs, and product development processes preferred.
• Experience with mechanical design and fabrication of components and assemblies.
• Experience with Ihirify.globalor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia, Oracle, and JD Edwards preferred.
• Ability to define project materials and information, assemble engineered build packages, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
