Consulting Manager (Workday Payroll)

Location: Remote - US

Salary: $150,000–$190,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Manage complex Workday Payroll projects and workstreams against compliance standards, operational goals, and measurable outcomes.
• Advise senior client executives on payroll transformation, regulatory requirements, and solution roadmaps.
• Lead, coach, and develop consulting teams across multiple payroll engagements.
• Oversee scope, timelines, budgets, resources, governance, risks, and escalations.
• Provide executive oversight of Workday Payroll configuration, integrations with time tracking, benefits, accounting, and third-party vendors, as well as testing.
• Support account growth through payroll-focused pre-sales strategy, proposals, and client presentations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in payroll operations, technology consulting, or enterprise systems, including 5+ years with Workday Payroll.
• Experience overseeing end-to-end Workday Payroll implementations, including parallel testing, compliance configuration, and integration oversight.
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax processing, retroactivity, garnishments, and off-cycle payroll.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and scaling delivery across multiple clients or projects.
• Exceptional client engagement, communication, executive relationship-building, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
