Security Engineer / Staff Engineer (Node.js Security)

Location: 100% remote work anywhere in the world

Salary: Up to $12,000 gross/month before taxes under a B2B agreement

An established international product company with more than 15 years in the market, developing Linux infrastructure and security solutions including the Imunify360 security suite.

What you will do

• Define the technical approach for runtime protection inside the Node.js process.
• Design detection logic to identify and block attacks during application execution.
• Build and launch the first product version in real production environments.
• Ensure transparent protection without changes to client code or disruption of legitimate applications.
• Improve the product using telemetry, production feedback, and real-world security incidents.
• Optimize runtime overhead, false positives, false negatives, and customer escalation volume.

Requirements

• Security Engineering or Security Research experience with a deep understanding of attack vectors and defense methods.
• Experience independently building and shipping a product or solution from idea to production.
• Ability to define solutions for ambiguous problems and deliver results without constant supervision.
• Experience designing architecture and making key technical decisions at Staff or Architect level.
• Intermediate English or higher is required; all interviews are conducted in English.
• B2B engagement through a sole proprietorship or company is required.

Nice to have

• Security experience in Node.js, including vulnerability analysis, application hardening, or security research.
• Production and development experience with Linux.
• Knowledge of runtime protection, WAF, instrumentation, malware analysis, or incident response.
• Experience in managed hosting or VPS environments.
• Experience with AI coding agents such as Copilot or Cursor.
