Senior Quality Manager - Customer Assurance (Manufacturing): Leading customer quality assurance, reliability and robustness integration in new product development, and warranty reduction across manufacturing with an accent on APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and structured problem solving. Focus on resolving complex field issues, institutionalizing quality systems, coaching manufacturing teams, and driving sustainable process improvement.

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; the role combines office-based duties with physical work in field or production environments.

Pay range: $118,700–$211,300 per year across U.S. locations.

What you will do

  • Lead customer quality assurance through issue containment, root-cause resolution, field communication, and warranty reduction.
  • Integrate reliability and robustness into new product development and manufacturing launch activities.
  • Lead APQP and ensure PFMEA, Control Plans, and Reaction Plans are embedded in manufacturing processes.
  • Train and coach manufacturing teams in APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, and Six Sigma problem-solving methods.
  • Develop and institutionalize quality tools and best practices across manufacturing.
  • Provide strategic quality guidance and serve as the highest level of escalation for complex quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with Design for Reliability, Design for Robustness, or Design for Six Sigma.
  • Experience deploying quality improvements in new product development processes.
  • Strong analytical, project management, prioritization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work across office, field, and production environments, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to noise or varying temperatures.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in reliability engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; Master Black Belt certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing large teams in a continuous improvement culture.
