Category Specialist - Indirect/Hardware & Fasteners

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite position

Salary: $73,200–$117,800 per year

What you will do

• Gather, manipulate, and analyze spend and commodity data to support sourcing strategies and category management.
• Research categories using internal and external data, interpret market trends, and identify value-capture opportunities.
• Analyze suppliers, supply markets, category pricing, total cost of ownership, and supply chain risks.
• Support supplier relationship management and engagement.
• Assist with and lead long-term agreement negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Use project management and influencing skills to coordinate programs from concept through launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience in supply chain management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to travel 10–20%.
• Ability to understand engineering technical drawings, taxonomy, and technical grammar.
• Knowledge of data analytics tools and supplier markets.
• Strong communication, organizational, time-management, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
• Proficiency with web-based applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Nice to have

• Purchasing experience in manufacturing, particularly in hardware and fasteners.
• Experience with negotiation and capital expenditures.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with changing requirements.
