Location: San Francisco, CA; full-time on-site role

What you will do

• Independently process all types of health claims for assigned benefit plans.
• Provide customer service support to healthcare providers and members as needed.
• Generate correspondence and form letters related to claims processing.
• Maintain current knowledge of assigned plans and apply it accurately to claim payments.
• Support other claims processors and special projects to help minimize backlog.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Two years of experience processing group health and/or dental benefit claims.
• Knowledge of benefits claims processing, basic claims adjudication principles, medical and/or dental terminology, and ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes.
• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
• Ability to interpret plan documents and procedures, prepare routine reports and correspondence, communicate effectively, perform basic calculations, and solve practical problems.
• Ability to consistently meet production and quality goals.
