Communications Test Engineer I

What you will do

• Define, design, implement, and maintain measurement and test solutions for link and modem validation.
• Develop and manage test setups and software for baseband and RF-level verification.
• Analyze calibration, metrology, statistical errors, confidence levels, and error budgets.
• Develop modular, reusable software in Python or similar languages.
• Analyze and troubleshoot link-performance issues.
• Collaborate with DSP, hardware, and software teams to improve system performance.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical or electronic engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience with RF measurement and instrumentation.
• At least 2 years of programming experience using Python.
• Strong digital engineering and software development skills, with a good understanding of RF systems.
• Ability to work on-site in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.
• Some roles may be subject to security and export-control restrictions based on nationality, place of birth, and country of residence.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with digital and RF measurement equipment, including analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, and network analyzers.
• Link-performance measurement experience with link or protocol testers and channel emulators.
• Knowledge of physical-layer satellite modem algorithms or standards such as DVB-S2 and CCSDS.
• Experience with collaborative software design, Git, code reviews, test automation, Linux, Windows, statistical analysis, or metrology.
