Test & Development Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom; based at the hirify.global Campus approximately 10 miles south of Cambridge.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate system elements for the Constellation robotic automation system.
• Create test strategies, plans, protocols, and procedures, then evaluate functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Test and troubleshoot complex mechatronics systems and diagnose system faults.
• Provide technical feedback to design teams and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Transition into formal verification activities, including change management, traceability, protocol generation, and verification reporting.

Requirements

• Strong engineering background gained through a degree or vocational route.
• Proven experience testing and verifying complex mechatronics systems, preferably in a product development environment.
• Strong technical analysis and documentation skills, including test protocols and test reports.
• Experience applying statistical and data analysis, simulation, and engineering modelling to evaluate product performance.
• Ability to identify failure modes, conduct structured root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary, fast-paced work.

Nice to have

• Understanding of robotic automation systems, robot integration, control systems, and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Python and robotic software frameworks such as ROS.
• Experience developing robotic automation systems and robots.
