Lead Operator (Hydrogen)

Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Operate the hydrogen manufacturing facility from the centralized DCS and coordinate field operations.
• Operate the steam methane reformer, CO2 removal and compression systems, PSA, tail gas compression, membrane unit, utilities, and customer pipeline network.
• Monitor process variables, adjust control loops and setpoints, optimize production, and maintain product quality and supply reliability.
• Execute safe plant and unit startups, emergency procedures, work permits, LOTO, and equipment isolations.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams on corrective maintenance, commissioning, shutdowns, turnarounds, and root cause investigations.
• Lead field operations and assume shift lead responsibilities when the shift supervisor is absent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or chemical process operations; an associate technical degree may be considered.
• Preferably 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in lead DCS operations.
• Experience operating an SMR-based hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, or syngas plant as a DCS operator.
• Proficiency with DCS platforms such as Yokogawa Centum VP or Siemens PCS 7.
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, process control, plant operations, maintenance, and diagnostics.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate daily with customers and coordinate operations and maintenance teams.
