GovCloud Data Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Location: USA - Remote; open to US Citizens or Permanent Residents. Security clearance eligibility or the ability to obtain a government security clearance is required, along with additional background and fingerprint checks.

Salary: $100,000–$155,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build AWS GovCloud infrastructure and foundational architecture across development, pre-production, and production environments.
• Establish PostgreSQL platforms, including performance optimization, replication, backup and recovery, high availability, and security hardening.
• Develop Chef cookbooks, recipes, and automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning and repeatable deployments.
• Configure Google SAML-based identity and access management and deploy Business Intelligence infrastructure, including Tableau Server or equivalent platforms.
• Implement network segmentation, environment isolation, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, observability, runbooks, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor and resolve infrastructure and data pipeline incidents while collaborating with security, compliance, DevOps, and data engineering teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of infrastructure engineering and operations experience, including 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience.
• Experience building greenfield cloud infrastructure from design through production deployment.
• Strong PostgreSQL administration skills covering performance tuning, replication, backup and recovery, high availability, security, query optimization, and ETL/ELT validation.
• Hands-on Chef experience with cookbooks, recipes, roles, and environments, plus strong Python, Bash, and Ruby scripting skills.
• Experience with Google SAML/SSO, Tableau Server or another BI platform, monitoring tools, CI/CD platforms, Git, VPCs, firewalls, and network security.
• US citizenship or permanent residency, security clearance eligibility, and ability to pass government-required background and fingerprint checks. A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
