Field Operator (Hydrogen Plant)

Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Operate an SMR-based hydrogen plant with CO2 removal and compression, PSA with tail gas compression, membrane units, utilities, and related equipment.
• Operate the pipeline network supplying hydrogen, steam, and CO2 to customers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor process variables during field rounds, inspect equipment, make local adjustments, and collect routine process samples.
• Execute plant and unit startup and shutdown sequences, support commissioning, and prepare for shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Coordinate equipment isolation, purging, blinding, maintenance preparation, and safe return to service.
• Investigate process deviations and equipment malfunctions, support root cause analysis, and implement operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or chemical process operations; an associate technical degree may be considered based on experience and competence.
• At least 5 years of field operations experience in an SMR-based hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, or syngas plant.
• Strong understanding of SMR processes, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, and rotating equipment, especially compressors.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, problem-solving, diagnostic, and operational knowledge.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and the ability to communicate effectively with operations and maintenance teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, full-time.
