Construction Manager

Location: Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea; field-based and onsite, with willingness to travel and be based in remote locations in Korea.

What you will do

• Manage the overall construction effort and administration for assigned projects.
• Coordinate contractors and construction staff while monitoring compliance with safety standards, construction procedures, contracts, schedules, and budgets.
• Control workmanship and material quality, arrange testing and inspections, and supervise specialized activities including heavy equipment installation, insulation, painting, oxygen cleaning, and tank erection.
• Develop and update the Construction Execution Plan, site organization chart, and contracting plan throughout pre-construction and construction.
• Review progress, staffing, invoices, field changes, daily logs, weekly reports, and monthly project reports.
• Lead contractor meetings and construction updates covering safety, commercial, technical, quality, and schedule matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction engineering or an equivalent field.
• 10+ years of total work experience, including 8+ years in industrial gas plant, chemical, or petrochemical construction projects.
• Knowledge of project execution and site management for construction projects.
• Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and communicate effectively across functions.
• Written English and PC skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, email, and internet use.
• Willingness to work in a field-based environment, including extended hours, weekends, and some holidays when required.

Nice to have

• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Industrial gas or plant construction experience across civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation activities.
• Construction management or construction estimation experience with an international engineering company or high-ranked local EPC.
• Construction subcontract management and experience with different construction contract types.
• Korean construction, industrial safety, gas, or electrical certificates and licenses.
