Senior Cyber Underwriter (Cyber Insurance)

Location: Madrid, with team members primarily expected to work in the office

What you will do

• Underwrite Cyber and Tech PI risks, from large Spanish clients to volume-based digital solutions for SMEs.
• Assess risk desirability using financial reports, proposals, claims history, company information, and broker input.
• Meet underwriting targets, operate within delegated authority, and support portfolio financial objectives.
• Generate new business by developing broker relationships, expanding the broker network, and participating in market meetings and client events.
• Support the Cyber and Tech PI underwriting strategy across Iberia while maintaining renewal retention above 90%.
• Ensure accurate underwriting data, contract certainty, fair treatment of brokers and clients, self-audits, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Experience in cyber underwriting is preferred.
• Background in cybersecurity or an equivalent field is preferred.
• University degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or Economics is preferred.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required.
• Strong communication, negotiation, networking, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Customer-centric and sales-oriented approach, with a proactive, technically skilled, focused, tenacious, and accountable working style.
