Underwriter Construction (f/m/x)

What you will do

• Source and underwrite new construction insurance business in line with profitability targets.
• Develop, manage, and maintain a profitable portfolio of construction accounts.
• Apply underwriting authorities, guidelines, governance frameworks, and functional rules.
• Monitor submission data and historical loss results across the portfolio.
• Coordinate with Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations, producers, clients, and brokers.
• Manage referrals, conduct four-eye reviews, issue accurate policy documentation, and support junior underwriters and underwriting assistants.

Requirements

• Extensive experience underwriting profitable construction business for large corporate international insurance.
• Established relationships with clients and brokers at peer-group level.
• Specialized knowledge of regional and local construction insurance markets and the competitor landscape.
• Ability to use data and analytics to improve business efficiency and effectiveness.
• Good understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, with the ability to develop robust contract wordings.
• Excellent negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills; results-oriented approach.
