Director, Licensing

Location: New York, New York, USA (Corporate Headquarters); onsite, full time

Base pay: $140,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day relationships and communications with a portfolio of 15+ licensing partners.
• Develop long-range business plans, identify growth opportunities, and support international licensing initiatives, including Japan.
• Monitor retail sales, coordinate monthly financial reviews and quarterly business reviews, and evaluate new distribution opportunities.
• Prepare seasonal marketing plans and coordinate marketing, PR, packaging, showroom, point-of-sale, and in-store visual projects through final approval.
• Lead seasonal product development and merchandising reviews, including line plans, trends, color and print standards, and final product approvals.
• Partner with Legal on renewals, amendments, term sheets, contract updates, and negotiations with licensees.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in fashion and/or home industries, including licensing experience.
• People-management experience; the role directly manages reports and oversees a team of four.
• Strong business planning, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills with close attention to detail.
• Experience with legal documents, contract terms, and negotiations.
• Excellent product sensibility across fashion and home categories.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Workfront, and Adobe InDesign.
