Customer Reliability Engineer Intern (PT) (Mechanical Seals)

Location: Port Arthur, Texas, USA; must attend school in the Port Arthur area and work in an in-plant production/manufacturing environment.

What you will do

• Rotate through Inspection/Repair, Maintenance, Assembly, Engineering, and Sales departments.
• Inspect, disassemble, clean, lap, assemble, and pressure-test mechanical seals.
• Review part drawings and assess whether components can be repaired.
• Conduct mechanical seal failure analysis and identify root causes.
• Support field needs, customer inquiries, and process application reviews.
• Run calculations for new and existing seal designs with Reliability Engineers and communicate with stakeholders across disciplines.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university-level Mechanical Engineering program with at least two years completed.
• Good academic standing and at least 18 years of age.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; some CAD experience.
• Effective written and spoken communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
