Chicago Technology Audit & Advisory Experienced Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chicago, United States. Hybrid work combines in-person work at local hirify.global offices and client sites with remote work; travel may be local or out of state depending on client projects. hirify.global is not registered to hire or employ personnel in West Virginia or Alaska.

Salary: $66,000–$99,000 annually, plus a $2,000 bonus target; estimated total cash range of $68,000–$101,000.

What you will do

• Conduct client interviews, gather and analyze data, and document audit findings.
• Assess technology risks and controls across cybersecurity, cloud assurance, IT general controls, data privacy, enterprise applications, and technology resilience.
• Develop process flows, work programs, audit reports, control summaries, and recommendations.
• Support internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley activities, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Apply analytics, AI, automation, and other technology-enabled methods to improve audit analysis.
• Build client relationships, manage assignments, and collaborate with project teams across multiple industries.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, cybersecurity, business, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs, or a related field.
• Understanding of IT audit methodologies and internal control frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS, and ITIL.
• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and their technology implications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Visio and Access is relevant.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model and travel to local or out-of-state client sites as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, or RPA solutions.
• Certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CISM, or CISSP.
• Exposure to cloud, data governance, privacy, enterprise applications, disaster recovery, or emerging technologies.
