Site Manager, Network Deployment (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Wesley Vale, Tasmania, Australia; site-based role

What you will do

• Own site execution for Layer 1 network infrastructure across large-scale data center deployment projects.
• Plan and supervise rack move-in, rack installation, rack-and-stack activities, structured cabling, fibre termination, patching, labelling, and testing.
• Manage network installation subcontractors, specialist vendors, manpower, materials, tools, permits, and daily work fronts.
• Coordinate deployment sequencing with Project Managers, engineers, logistics, and mechanical and electrical teams.
• Align rack installation with progressive power, cooling, energisation, Layer 2 configuration, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead daily troubleshooting, defect correction, punch-list closure, quality documentation, reporting, and handover.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in telecommunications, network engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in network infrastructure deployment, telecommunications, structured cabling, data center fit-out, or related construction environments.
• Hands-on experience with network racks, rack and stack, fibre optic installation, termination, patching, and testing.
• Experience managing subcontractors and installation crews and supporting network activation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault isolation.
• Knowledge of Layer 1 infrastructure, ODFs, patch panels, cable schedules, port maps, OTDR and insertion-loss testing, and basic Layer 2 networking.
• Ability to coordinate M&E readiness, including rack power, PDUs, grounding/bonding, cooling, and environmental conditions.

Nice to have

• Structured cabling, fibre optic, or networking qualifications.
• Experience with network installation contractors, telecommunications contractors, systems integrators, data centers, or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating progressive power and cooling bring-up with M&E teams.
