Financial Accounting Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, and financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and review SEC disclosures, technical accounting memoranda, and audit documentation.
• Provide accounting leadership on revenue recognition, leases, impairment analyses, and government contracting requirements.
• Manage SOX compliance, internal controls, process improvements, and audit readiness.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff while partnering with FP&A, program management, procurement, supply chain, and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Big Four public accounting and public company experience, including 2–5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX internal controls.
• Experience with an enterprise ERP system such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, prioritization, deadline-management, and confidentiality skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with FAR/CAS and government contracting accounting.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, regulated manufacturing, or an IPO-ready environment.
